Parish Weekend in Derbyshire - 6th to 8th July 2018
Who is the weekend for? EVERYONE!
The Programme for the weekend will include some time for worship, study and prayer as well as plenty of time for rest and relaxation.

The Changing Room  - A Counselling Service at St Augustine’s Church
A Professional Counselling Service for people going through bereavement, suffering with anxiety and/or depression.

PARISH MORNING PRAYER: 8.00 am to 8.20 am each Wednesday & Thursday at St. Augustine's.
This is for the whole parish and anyone is most welcome to join us.
Find some peace before you start your busy day.

Please note there will be no 8am Morning Prayer during Easter.

 

Foodbank: At present, the foodbank is expecting a rise in demand with the introduction of Universal Credit. Please bring non-perishable food items and leave them at church. Also, in response to information in the media about ‘period poverty’, the Foodbank welcomes donations of sanitary products for women.

Emmaus Course for those curious to know more about following Jesus Christ. The course is also suitable for any considering Confirmation.
The course begins on 22nd March and continues on 5th April, 12th April, 19th April, 26th April and 3rd May. Sessions start at 6.00pm at St Augustine’s.

A group for men seeking to make sense of life, starting with a cooked breakfast!

Tuesday 24th April: 7.30 pm - Annual Parochial Church Meeting, followed by Parochial Church Meeting, St. Augustine's.

BOOKS, CARDS & CRAFT TABLE: Need a little gift for someone? Please take a look in the bookcase at the back of church which is ongoing fund raising. All proceeds to St. Augustine’s. Updated regularly so keep looking!

 

CHURCH ESSENTIALS: Can you help with a donation to restock items for church services: Communion wine, wafers, candles, lamp oil, spotlights and flowers? It would be most appreciated.

BIBLE STUDY / PRAYER MEETING: 7.30 pm on Wednesdays, in the Choir Vestry, alternate weeks.

Adults £10, Concessions £9, Under 18s £15.
Includes light refreshments and raffle.

Flood Lighting
You can sponsor the floodlighting of St. Michael's Church to mark a special day, perhaps in memory of a dearly departed loved one. See St. Michael's page for details.

 

First Monday of each month: 7.30 pm - Beetle Drive.
                £2 per adult, £1 per child, including light refreshments.

Third Monday of each month: 7.30 pm - Bingo.
                £1 entrance fee + 50p per book of 8 Bingo cards, including light refreshments.

Third Wednesday of each month: 12.00 noon - Lunch Bunch.
                (Lunches must be booked, please Contact us.)

Breakfast

Fourth Saturday of each month: 9.15 am for 9.30 am - Big Breakfast.
We start at around 9:15 am with breakfast (cooked breakfast as well as toast, cereal and fruit). All are welcome.
Please book your breakfast by adding your name to the list in the Churchroom.

 

Collecting for the homeless: We will be collecting items for the homeless to be distributed by “House of Bread", Stafford and Portacabin, Cannock. They would like donations of Shaving foam, disposable razors, men’s deodorant, toiletries, gloves, hats, socks and dog food.

Each Saturday
: 9.00 am to 10.00 am - Office Hours.
                          9.30 am to 10.00 am - Saturday Morning Prayer Group.
                          Come along for quiet reflection and prayers. Everyone welcome.

Monday Group: Meets Mondays 11am – 12.30pm in the hall. £2 a session.
We have a variety of gentle activities – chair exercises, coffee mornings, quizzes, sharing stories/experiences, craft, Murder Mysteries. . . . .and more. For more details see Chris Travers-Brookes or Kathy Smith

Tea and cake
First Wednesday of each month
: 10.30 am to 12.00 noon - Coffee Morning.
All welcome to this social, community event, which is proving very popular and well supported.
£2.50 including tea/coffee and homemade cake. There is usually a bric-a-brac stall and Raffle.
