Parish Weekend in Derbyshire - 6th to 8th July 2018
Who is the weekend for? EVERYONE!
The Programme for the weekend will include some time for worship, study and prayer as well as plenty of time for rest and relaxation.

This is for the whole parish and anyone is most welcome to join us.

BIBLE STUDY / PRAYER MEETING: 7.30 pm on Wednesdays, in the Choir Vestry, alternate weeks.

Wednesdays from 22nd November to 13th December at 7.30 pm  and
Thursdays from 23rd November to 14th December at 12.00 noon: A series through Advent: "Listen to the Story” at the Church of the Holy Spirit.
The Gospel of Luke read by cast members of the Riding Lights Theatre Co. Bring your knitting/sewing/doodle pad or just come and listen. All welcome.

Thursday 23rd November: 7.30 pm - Licensing of the Rev Peter Hart, St. John the Baptist, Armitage.

Sunday 26th November: Christ the King - Stewardship Sunday.

Sunday 26th November: 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm - Quiet Afternoon at St. Augustine's. Please see Ann French for details.

Tuesday 28th November: 7.30 pm - Parochial Church Council Meeting, St. Michael's.

Wednesday 29th November: 7.30 pm - Stable Trail Meeting, St. Augustine's. Please come along if you can help in any way towards the Stable Trail.
The Stable Trail will take place on Saturday 9th December.


Hands at Work

Dan Wasp, a long term volunteer from the UK who lives and works at Hands at Work in South Africa is visiting the UK and he will be speaking at St John's Church, Heath Hayes on the evening of 1st December.
Dan has helped on two of the teams that Rev'd Brian has been on, visiting the community with them and helping them analyse the things they have seen.
Please come along to hear more about the work that Hands at Work does from someone who has built his life and family around that work.
For more details, including organising a lift, please contact Rev'd Brian.

BOOKS, CARDS & CRAFT TABLE: Need a little gift for someone? Please take a look in the bookcase at the back of church which is ongoing fund raising. All proceeds to St. Augustine’s. Updated regularly so keep looking!

 

CHURCH ESSENTIALS: Can you help with a donation to restock items for church services: Communion wine, wafers, candles, lamp oil, spotlights and flowers? It would be most appreciated.

Floorlight

Flood Lighting
You can sponsor the floodlighting of St. Michael's Church to mark a special day, perhaps in memory of a dearly departed loved one. See St. Michael's page for details.

 

First Monday of each month: 7.30 pm - Beetle Drive.
                £2 per adult, £1 per child, including light refreshments.

Third Monday of each month: 7.30 pm - Bingo.
                £1 entrance fee + 50p per book of 8 Bingo cards, including light refreshments.

Third Wednesday of each month: 12.00 noon - Lunch Bunch.
                (Lunches must be booked, please Contact us.)

Breakfast

Fourth Saturday of each month: 9.15 am for 9.30 am - Big Breakfast.
We start at around 9:15 am with breakfast (cooked breakfast as well as toast, cereal and fruit). All are welcome.
Please book your breakfast by adding your name to the list in the Churchroom.
There is no Big Breakfast in November or December, but it will resume in January.

Sunday 3rd December:
3.00 pm - Christingle Service.
Christmas Jumpers at the ready! Everyone is welcome to come along so please encourage your family and friends to this lovely, family friendly service. Carols, prayers and a traditional Christingle candle for all who attend will be handed out during the service.

Monday 11th December: 7.30 pm - Blue Serge Music Evening with Phil & Bruce.

Sunday 24th December: 5.00 pm - Crib Service.
A lovely child friendly service, always popular and a lovely way share the Christmas message.

The Church of the Holy Spirit

Fourth Wednesday of each month after the evening Service - District Church Council.

Each Saturday: 9.00 am to 10.00 am - Office Hours.
                          9.30 am to 10.00 am - Saturday Morning Prayer Group.
                          Come along for quiet reflection and prayers. Everyone welcome.

As usual our Posada nativity set will be travelling around Rugeley during Advent and we are looking for families to host Mary & Joseph overnight. Look out for the signing up sheet in church. The list will also be going into Etching Hill School this year, to allow more families to take part, so don’t leave it too long before signing up. The Posada will leave here on Advent Sunday and return at our Crib Service at St. Augustine’s on Christmas Eve.

The Church of St. John the Baptist

Tea and cake
First Wednesday of each month
: 10.30 am to 12.00 noon - Coffee Morning.
All welcome to this social, community event, which is proving very popular and well supported.
£2.50 including tea/coffee and homemade cake. There is usually a bric-a-brac stall and Raffle.
